Our Managed Services offerings are designed to dramatically reduce or eliminate computer problems in your business while maximizing your network’s speed, performance, and stability, without the expense of a full-time IT staff. Unlike other computer consultants who profit from the failures in your IT environment, our purpose is to PREVENT computer problems from escalating into unexpected downtime, data loss, interruptions in business, and financial loss. Our service does not allow us to profit from your technology troubles in any way.

- Q: How much do these managed services cost?
- A: This will vary by the equipment and complexity of the network that will be monitored and maintained. We will prepare a custom quote based on a comprehensive site survey. Most managed services providers charge a flat fee per computer or server that will be covered. The flat fee approach is biased to favor the service provider so that they never "lose money". It can be so expensive that it prevents the client from participating and gaining the benefits of managed services. We understand that every organization has unique needs and abilities. We will work with you to prepare a quote that is cost effective and involves factors such as what your average monthly IT expenses have been and whether you wish to keep some of your internal IT support. Each quarterly meeting will include a review of our performance, changes to your network, and changes in your company’s IT related staff. If necessary, we will prepare a new quote to meet your changing needs. If a flexible fee is not appropriate to your needs, our standard fee is $60 per workstation and $250 per server per month for the Network Fortress Service and $50 per workstation and $250 per server per month for the Computer Vanguard Service. We provide Server Sentinel as a flat rate service because our costs are fixed and the labor involved is easily calculated. The cost is $350/month for each server in your network. Similarly, the Workstation Watch service is priced at a flat $10/month.
- Q: What are the differences between the three managed services levels?
- A: Please see the Managed Services Feature Comparison tab for an excellent breakdown of the services we offer.
- Q: Can I place just specific devices under the Network Fortress or Computer Vanguard Managed Service?
- A: No. Having unprotected devices on the network can be a backdoor for malware to affect managed devices on the network. This ruins the preventive nature of the services and adds complications to managing your network effectively.
- Q: I want to subscribe! What is my commitment?
- A: The first and last month’s payment is made in advance if paying by check. Only the first month’s payment is necessary to get started if you wish to pay by credit card or automatic debit (ACH). You may cancel your agreement at any time with 30 days written notice.
- Q: Can I change from one managed service to another?
- A: Yes. You may change managed service subscriptions at any time with 30 days written notice.
- Q: Do I get a discount for multiple devices covered under these services?
- A: Yes. Our licensing costs for providing these services are reduced when purchasing multiple licenses, so we are happy to pass the savings on to you. Your monthly rate quote should be discounted if you have more than 10 computers.
- Q: What operating systems do you support?
- A: Currently we can manage and monitor Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, and 2008. We recommend replacing Windows 2000 computers at this time due to the end of support from Microsoft and the many security risks that Windows 2000 computers are susceptible to. We can monitor Linux and UNIX based servers and computers but many of the management benefits will not apply to them.
- Q: Are new hardware and software installation costs covered under the managed services agreement?
- A: Yes, the Network Fortress Service covers installation of new hardware and software. If this involves a major change in your IT infrastructure we will prepare a new quote to reflect the change for your approval before beginning the work. If you are a Computer Vanguard or Server Sentinel Service subscriber, there is no fee to replace your covered hardware and included software. In addition, you will receive a 10% discount on our rates for installing and configuring new hardware and software. The cost of the actual hardware and software is not included in any service plan. However, we will act on the behalf of Network Fortress Service subscribers to research, recommend, and purchase new hardware and software at no charge. You will never be asked to pay additional fees after work is performed.
- Q: Will you guarantee that I won’t have any technical problems or downtime?
- A: No, we cannot guarantee that you will never have any technical problems or downtime; no one can. However, we will guarantee you will see a significant drop in the number of problems you experience, and a dramatic improvement in the speed, performance, and reliability of your system.
- Q: What if the software included with your service conflicts with other programs on our network?
- A: We will work with you to find alternate software that will not conflict with the programs or devices on your network at no charge. We reserve the right to replace our included software with alternates if we determine that your network will be better protected with products from other vendors. This replacement will be done at no cost to you and will not change the price of your service. Our aim is to proactively prevent problems on your network and we will use the best tools on the market to do so. Our service is vendor neutral and we do not participate in incentive-based partner programs that tie us to any specific vendor or product.
